It was all Digger all the time on Friday the 13th in Albuquerque. Pablo Hffaker came out and won the Wheelie Contest although it was a tight call between Digger and The Turtle.
Ryan Huffaker was in the seat ot the Turtle this weekend, giin Aaron Basl a much deserved rest. Ryan started the ball rolling by airing it out in the Wheelie contest. The racing lanes were not condusive to wheel stands so Ryan launched the Turtle hard and scored well because of it. The rest of the teams struggled to get the trucks standing straight up. Pablo and the Digger launched equally as hard but also had the front end come up to nearly 60 degrees, which tipped the scale in Digger favor for the win.
Wheelie Scores
Pit Bull 9
Turtle 14
El Matador 8
King Krunch 10
GraveDigger 16
During the Ford Party in the Pits, the drivers had fans draw out of the hat for the racing bracket match ups. By luck of the draw Digger received the #1 chip and had a bye run in round one. King Krunch faced off and beat Pit Bull, and El Matador looked stellar taking the win over the Turtle. The Turtle would return as fast loser and went up against GraveDigger, in a loosing effort, as Digger advanced to the Final. In the other match up it was the Flame Motorsports team facing off. David Smith in King Krunch vs. Darin Basl and El Matador. King Kruch looked to have his teammate covered but a mistake in the final turn cost the King a chance at Digger in the final. El Matador was up to the task at hand and narrowly lost out to Digger in the main event.
Freestyle was more of the same in the winnig ways department for Pablo and Digger. Making hot laps around the raceway, HUGE AIR, and in total control, Pablo took the win, in convincing fashion.
For the 2nd time this weekend Pablo Huffaker and GraveDigger won it all. He pushed hard by all of the competitors, from Pit Bull and Charles Benz in the wheelie competition, to El Matador in the racing main event and then King Krunch in the Freestyle Comp. The Pit Bull had a spectacular wheelie contest hit, but was a little out of control, which is what Digger wasn't, and that made the difference in the win.
Racing saw Pablo at his best. He had a 4 wheel drift going in the turns, then a Bubba Scrub on the table top to keep the wheels and the power on the ground, and was flat out a half track faster than the rest of the field. Dude can drive a Monstr Truck!!
Freestyle was the same as racing. Pablo and Digger were burning hot laps around the track. Launching off an obstacle, keeping his foot in it. That is what freestyle is all about. David Smith and King Krunch showed his talent and skill in freestyle as well. Getting a slap wheelie, which no one else did all weekend, and then huge air off of the various stacks of metal carnage. It was an outstanding performance.
