A sold out crowd and a beautiful sunny afternoon in California is all you need for an awesome Monster Jam. Oh? It helps to have ten of the best Monster Trucks in the world too. Tom Meents continued his reign of domination from the world finals to Florida and now to California. Max D. showed the great Salinas fans why he is the World racing champion and eight time World Finals champ by winning every competition today. Tom won the Wheelie contest then took the fastest qualifying time and then outlasted the ten truck field beating Grave Digger by one point in freestyle for the afternoon sweep and a double down trophy.

Some of the high lights was in the opening when Max D. rolled over in intros, Escalade rolled in the semi finals when he was leading the race, and The Patriots battle from round one of racing to the semi finals when he came back twice as fast looser. King Krunch blew an input shaft during the introductions and was out the rest of the day. Escalade also had problems when he came out for freestyle and had to turn around in the arena and go to the hauler because of a blown transmission. The trucks that did hold it together and shined in front of the crowd was the California natives, Mike Pappas, Rick Swanson and Dan Rodoni. All three of these trucks had good qualifying time and great freestyles for the home town crowds. Here are the results of the three competitions.

       In other racing action Tom Jones won the finals in the Pro Arena trucks challenge with Randy Avery taking second and Brian Spadey taking third. Team California won the finals in the Monterey Peninsula Power sports Quad wars over team Colorado.
