Monster Jam kicks off the international tour in San Jose,Costa Rica with a great first night of competition One year has passed very quickly, and our Monster Jam fans were anxious to have the monsters back at the Ricardo Saprisa Stadium.

The night weather was great for a first night of competition. The track was set with crush cars, dirt ramps, especially difficult ramps set for wheelies. The MJ drivers agreed on the fact the those ramps were quite straight from the front making more difficult to achieve a good wheelie without being at risk of flipping the truck backwards. In spite of such difficult conditions, most of the drivers did great on the first phase of competition, Monster Jam Wheelies.

Grave Digger tooke the first win of the night, and certainly it was great star with the right foot for Charlie Pauken who made a great demo of how to master those wheelies. On two hits Pauken kept the truck on the back wheelies rolling over the dirt ramp, while the truck almost at a perfect vertical position, that definetely gave Digger a plus from our qualified judges who gave him the highest score of the night for wheelies.

Monster Jam Racing
The MJ drivers during pre-show came to the raffle of their positions in the brackets for Monster Jam Racing having composed our bracket for round one of racing in the following order:

Blue Thunder vs El Toro Loco...... Blue Thunder had a mechanical problem with one of the wheel´s bearing and it is unable to run. El Toro Loco byruns and goes to the semi final round.

Max D vs Grave Digger.....Grave Digger Wins Superman vs Monster Mutt Dalmation... Superman Wins BullDozer vs Madusa...Madusa Wins

Madusa -two time world champion, one in MJ racing - celebrated big her first victory in Costa Rica. Quite excited with the win and with a bottle of champagne Madusa thanked the audience, and especially all of the Costa Rican women who remained loyal to support one of the two women in competition in MJ Costa Rica.
Monster Jam Freestyle
Monster Jam Freestyle as always one of the most acclaimed competitions of Monster Jam had a wonderful first night of competition. We used the 90 second mark for regular freestyle, plus 30 sec bonus time if judges considered it necessary. Up to 5 bonus pts were available plus up to 30 given by the 3 judges.

Bulldozer- 20+1........21
Madusa- 18+2....20
Superman- 23 pts, does get bonus time due to truck mechanic failure
Maximum Destruction 21+4.....25

Maximum Destruction flipped over during thru the end of the bonus time, and was the second highest score, besides the winner of free style, Grave Digger´s Charlie Pauken.Charlie had a double down by winning Wheelies and Freeestyle. Grave Digger made a great combination of wheelies and again the back wheels on the dirt ramps rolled on the distance.

It has been the second show here in San Jose, Costa Rica, and the Monster Jam drivers are just getting wilder by the minute, and guess what, Costa Ricans are just loving it!! More people are conviced of why Monster Jam has become one of the favorite motors sports. The combination of great competition and great entertaining elements makes of Monster Jam the best way to have families of MJ fans all over the world.

For monster Jam Wheelies, -during the first show- again brought the monster flooring the gas pedal to make the most impressive wheelies over the dirt ramps. Grave Digger-the winner- again showed of how there´s no coincidende when every single time, he does de wheelie and keeps rolling on the back wheels. Of Course people are loving it every time he drives on the digger´s back wheels for a few feet while going over the dirt ramp. Charlie Pauken ( Grave Digger) has conquered at this time, 2 wins in a row in wheelie competition. Following are the rest of the Monsters´scores. This weekend with no exception, it has been the weekend for Grave Digger in Costa Rica. Charle pauken(driver) is enjoying his first time in Costa Rica with multiple wins, one double down, and still awaiting to repeat more than one win on Sunday´s competinn. Costa Ricans mostly impressed with the backwheelies that he´s able to perform,while launching the monster and rolling the back wheels on the dirt ramp.

Charlie Pauken( Grave Digger) was wishing to win in racing to comple victories in every singlecompetition and certainly achieved it tonight. He was real happy to have finally domained the track, so he could race at a great speed. The results were enviable. The first win for Grave Digger in racing in Costa Rica!!

A great win in Freestyle for El Toro loco made the monster jam fans jump off their seats. Regular time plus bonus time, utilized to the max by Lupe Sosa, whose Toro Loco had a tire detached while doing one final jumpo over the obstacles. Sosa had an outstanding ovation and Costa Ricans really gave him the loudest cheer yet heard. Congrats Lupe!!
