It was all about GraveDigger tonight. pablo won the Wheelie Contest, Racing and Freestyle.
The rest of the best gave their all, but it was not enough. The Turtle truck had tranny issues, El Matador had engine troubles, which kept a couple of hitters out of racing. El Matador was out until racing, missing the Wheelie contest and the qualifying pass for the side by side drags.
Rick Swanson had a great outing on Friday. Coming up just short in racing, if there had been video footage, the replay would have been worn out trying to figure the winner.
Freestyle saw slap wheelies, huge air, and gnarly donuts. The fans got what they came to see, as all of the trucks made their freestyle run.

Satuday:
The capacity crowd in Fresno were kept rocking all night long by the stars of Monster Jam.
The wheelie contest started the night and it gave the fans a preview of the Freestyle Competition that would conclude the show. Each of the drivers attacked the car stacks and with the officials giving them 2 hit per truck, it gave the drivers the opportunity to improve on the next hit. Usually the objective behind the sky wheelie contest is for the driver to try and stand the truck straight up and down. The higher, the more vertical, and the farther they travel in the air, the better the scores should be. But, this weekend it seems to be about who can get the most air!! The drivers have been flat footing the throttle and seeing how far they can launch the car stacks. The stacks are 5 cars this weekend and the entire field has been clearing the junk car lay out.

Racing in Fresno is a high speed affair. The 2 car roller stack, flat foot the no mans land and then rocket off of the 5 car stack. The landing area, or shut down space is the entire front stretch of the horse track at the Fresno Fairgrounds, giving the drivers the leeway to drive as hard as possible.

Since Pablo had brake problems in racing he came back out and laid it all out for the fans in Fresno. He is simply the best on the west coast. Hands down the man can flat out drive a monster truck.

Sunday:
It was all about GraveDigger on Sunday in Fresno. Pablo came out and won the wheelie contest, rolled the truck, breaking out a head light and skinning up the body just a bit. Then came racing and once again the black and green wrecking machine ended up in victory lane, and then in Freestyle, Pablo put on one of his patented freestyle runs, going way over the allotted 60 seconds, going for nearly 2 full minutes. At the end of the run, he went into a cyclone that had the fans standing and roaring!!! After he was done, he went out in front of the truck and tipped over from being dizzy!! Dave Smith and King Krunch had the mechanical mishap of the weekend. On his freestyle run, he had a huge air hit off of the vans, and upon impact the front left spindle and axle sheered off, sending the wheel and tire bouncing down the track and King Krunch out of action.
