Weekend Race Recap
Candace Jolly and Monster Mutt got things rocking right off the start by winning the wheelie contest. Candace and the Mutt went straight up and down, cleared the crush cars and nearly touched the ceiling. In my book that is the perfect sky wheelie and obviously it was the judges as well as they awarded her the top score.

Racing was up for grabs. The sandy surface kept the drivers from getting all of the drive needed to clear the crush cars, but it is a great was to see all of the horsepower in use. Everyone is having to really tromp on the throttle to make fast passes.
Batman lost in round one, but came back as fast loser in the semi and won his way to the main event. It the final, the 2 boys from PA went at it with wild abandon. Both guys left their foot on the floor, but in the end it was Alex Blackwell getting his first win ever against John Seasock.

Freestyle made the drivers work for their scores. The track went away quick with the high output freestyle runs. The sandy track just could not hold up to the abuse from the trucks. The van stack went away quick but that did not keep the heavy hitters from making it work. The Mutt was grabbing insane air, Batman laid down a donut that went clear to the concrete.
GraveDigger won the event, as Rod and Digger went all out for the fans.

Saturday:
My oh my. The fans in Spokane got a treat today in the Arena. Alex Blackwell showed why he is headed for the World Finals. In racing he was on top of his game, plus the addition of the heavy cleat tire on the rear of the truck, which gave him a traction advantage. The traction advantage does not take away from the driving ability of Alex. He was flat tracking the course, keeping his momentum and flying around the raceway. In Freestyle he kept the winning ways going with the same aggressive style of driving. Banging his truck around the track, never letting off of the throttle. If it wasn't for GraveDiggers win in the wheelie contest, Captains Curse cold have swept the day.
Candace Jolly came out and made the Mutt and the the lady race fans happy by winning the racing main event. She was up against the defending WF Racing Champ, John Seasock, not an easy challenge. Candace and the Mutt were up to said challenge, by taking the champ to school.
As the day went on the track workers from Dirt Wurx made the sandy surface into a decent track and the level of performance came way up. During Freestyle, everyone of the drivers were able to step it up and the crowd cheered their approval. For most of the Freestyle runs in the Arena today, the fans were on their feet, expecting the best and the drivers and truck delivered.
Rod Schmidt and GraveDigger had what I believe is their best freestyle run of the year on Saturday Night in Spokane. Rod as on the throttle, side slapping the obstacles, airing it out over the freestyle mx ramp and in general running a wild Grave Digger run. Candace and the Mutt also tried to win the hearts of the judges and fans as she was knocking the Mutt around until she finally ended up over on the Mutts back. This place was rocking from 11 am this morning until 9:30 tonight!!!

Sunday:
Alex Blackwell was THE man in Spokane. He won every event at least once this weekend and won 3 of the 4 racing main events. It took until Sunday to win the Wheelie Contest, but he finally got it done. The rest of the drivers did an outstanding job. Roger Stidell and Captain USA went to the final race against Captains Curse, and nearly stole the win. A slight bobble in the final turn cost the youngster a chance at the podium. Freestyle was a wild affair. For the 2nd time this weekend a truck ended up on its lid. Last night it was the Mutt, today it was Digger. Rod and Digger launched off of the van stack and landed on the van stack. Their wasn't much Rod could do to save the truck, and to the got what they wanted, Digger Destruction!!!
