Weekend Race Recap
Saturday Afternoon:

London, ON)  The 2009 Partsource Monster Jam kicked off with a Pit Party which ran from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.  Ontario-area fans were thrilled to meet some of the sport’s biggest stars who gladly chatted and signed autographs for everyone who asked.  The star-studded Monster Jam lineup included Aftershock (Bob Robbins), Bulldozer (Chuck Werner), El Toro Loco (Chris Baker), Maximum Destruction (Kreg Christensen), and Grave Digger, driven by North Carolina’s Randy Brown.
Monster Jam Technical Officials Danny Barnes, Rich Giambrone, Jen Satorius, and Bill Welser supervised the construction of the tacky, challenging course.  With three elements of Monster Jam competition including Wheelie, Racing, and Freestyle, the track would certainly be put to the test today.
The Monster Jam Wheelie Competition was won by Kreg Christensen in Maximum Destruction with a well-earned score of 26 points.  Second place went to Bulldozer with 25 points, while El Toro Loco and Grave Digger tied at 21 points each.  Bob Robbins in Aftershock rounded out scoring at 15 points.
Monster Jam Racing Round One saw Bob Robbins in Aftershock get the bye run.  He successfully flew solo across the finish line, automatically qualifying him for the next round.  Round One pairings included Maximum Destruction against El Toro Loco, with Maximum Destruction taking the hard-fought victory.  In the other race, Bulldozer charged past Grave Digger.
Grave Digger driver Randy Brown returned to the Monster Jam Racing Semi Final as Fast Loser to take on Aftershock.  This time, Grave Digger got a great start and drove on to the win.  In the other semi, a razor-sharp Chuck Werner in Bulldozer defeated the legendary Maximum Destruction machine drive by Kreg Kristensen.
The Monster Jam Racing Final paired Grave Digger against Bulldozer.  Chuck Werner is a driver that has been particularly sharp in racing this year, and this race would be no different.  Werner powered the snorting Bulldozer off the starting line and followed a perfect line over the crush cars.  His effort was good enough for the overall win over an ultra-competitive Grave Digger.
Partsource Freestyle Competition was a wild affair which saw some huge leaps over the massive van stack.  Both Maximum Destruction and El Toro Loco had strong runs, earning 17 and 18 points respectively.  Chuck Werner in Bulldozer raised the bar even further with a crowd-pleasing score of 24 points, but the day would belong to Randy Brown in Grave Digger.  Brown simply decimated the crush cars and the competition alike as he flew the black and green wrecking machine to a competition-winning score of 29.  It was certainly one of the best Freestyle runs ever in London, and the crowd showed their appreciation with a huge round of applause.
In Quad Wars action, Team London charged past a hungry Team Windsor in a handlebar-to-handlebar race.
There is no question that this first show was a great one.  With three different winners in three different events, the competition could be no hotter her in London.  Stay tuned right here as we get set to go at 7:30 P.M. for our second Monster event!

Saturday Night: (London, ON)  Returning to John Labatt Centre for Saturday night action were Aftershock (Bob Robbins), Bulldozer (Chuck Werner), El Toro Loco (Chris Baker), Maximum Destruction (Kreg Christensen), and Grave Digger (Randy Brown).  With three winners in as many events here this afternoon, the Monster Jam stars were eager to get the score settled in front of a very boisterous crowd.

The evening began with the Monster Jam Wheelie Competition, and once again it was all Kreg Christensen in Maximum Destruction as he took the win with a huge standup wheelie and a score of 26 points.  Second place was a tie at 21 points between Grave Digger and Bulldozer, while El Toro Loco and Aftershock knotted at 15 points apiece.
Monster Jam Racing Round One saw El Toro Loco get the Bye Run.  Grave Digger drove past Maximum Destruction in a very close finish, while Bulldozer zapped the voltage out of Aftershock.

The Monster Jam Racing Semi Final saw Maximum Destruction return as Fast Loser, and this time driver Kreg Christensen would make no mistake as he powered past El Toro Loco.  The other semi resulted in a Bulldozer win over Grave Digger.

The Monster Jam Racing Final brought Maximum Destruction to the starting line against Bulldozer.  While the crowd favorite may have been Maximum Destruction, the logical pick was Chuck Werner in Bulldozer as he had already won racing in the Saturday afternoon show.  Making no mistake, Werner got on the gas hard when the lights turned green and achieved perfect traction.  At the finish line it was all Bulldozer, giving Werner his second Monster Jam Racing Final victory in as many tries.

Partsource Freestyle Competition would again see a repeat winner with Grave Digger driver Randy Brown taking the victory as he did on Saturday afternoon.  Brown was simply stupendous as he masterfully carved his ten thousand pound Monster Jam truck around the intimidating dirt course.  Brown’s efforts were good enough for a score of 28 points.  Maximum Destruction was second with 26 points, while Buldozer finished third with 24.  Fourth place went to El Toro Loco at 18 points, while Aftershock driver Bob Robbins finished with 16.

In Quad Wars action, Team London repeated their Saturday afternoon victory with a hard fought main event victory over Team Windsor.  This big win gives Team London a stranglehold on the overall weekend points series here at John Labatt Centre.

As of this writing, the hard working Monster Jam crews and drivers were busily preparing for the third and final event of the weekend which is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Sunday afternoon.  And the way the weekend has gone so far, we expect another huge crowd to witness all the action of the greatest motor sports show on the planet.
We’ll see you on Sunday!

Sudnay:
(London, ON)  The third and final Partsource Monster Jam of the weekend was a huge success.  Ontario area fans crammed into John Labatt Centre for what would prove to be one of the most competitive Monster Jam events in this building’s history.

Following a traditional “Gentlemen Start Your Engines” command from the excited crowd, the drivers found themselves in the heat of battle with the Wheelie Competition.  El Toro Loco driver Chris Baker scored 11 points, Bob Robbins in Aftershock scored 15 points, and Grave Digger earned a score of 18.  Bulldozer upped the ante with a 24 point effort, but for the third time in a row this weekend it would be Kreg Christensen in Maximum Destruction atop the podium.  Christensen’s winning score of 26 points was well earned as he stood Maximum Destruction on its rear bumper while the fans stood on their feet.

Monster Jam Racing Round One gave Grave Digger the bye run.  Maximum Destruction defeated Aftershock, while Bulldozer pounded through El Toro Loco.
Chris Baker in El Toro Loco returned as Fast Loser in the Monster Jam Racing Semi Final, but was unable to defeat a hard-charging Randy Brown in Grave Digger.  The other Semi Final race was a great one, with Maximum Destruction narrowly edging out the speedy Chuck Werner in Bulldozer.

For the first time this weekend, London would have a different winner in the Monster Jam Racing Final.  Coming up against Maximum Destruction, Grave Digger driver Randy Brown would certainly have his hands full.  Fresh off his third Wheelie Competition win, Kreg Christensen was certainly a confident man.  However, it would take more than confidence to defeat the legendary Grave Digger as Christensen would soon find out.  Randy Brown was simply scorching fast as he launched Grave Digger off the starting line on route to the big racing win.

Jus t when the fans at John Labatt Centre thought things could not get any hotter, out came Partsource Freestyle Competition.  Starting it off was Bob Robbins in Aftershock.  Although he generated just 19 points, his effort was much better than his score would indicate.  Robbins did a beautiful job soaring Aftershock around the challenging course.  Strong displays of driving skill also came from both El Toro Loco and Bulldozer, who scored 20 and 22 points respectively.  Maximum Destruction driver Kreg Christensen managed to coax a score of just 16 from the tough Pizza Pizza judges, who seemed to be unusually stingy with the scorecards.  Randy Brown in Grave Digger, however, had no trouble making the Pizza Pizza Judges pay up as he brought the house down with the finest Freestyle run ever seen in London.  Brown pounded the van stack repeatedly and ended his run with a fantastic donut.  His effort was good enough for a competition-winning score of 28 points.

In Quad Wars action, Team London sewed up the Quad Wars Championship in a spectacular race which saw a huge crash at the West 49 Finish Line.  Fortunately, the riders involved were not injured but their equipment certainly was.

After another great Partsource Monster Jam weekend here in Canada, many thanks must go out to the hard working track crew who kept it all together for Ontario fans.  The course was perfect, the drivers had their game faces on, and a great time was had by all.  What more should you expect from the greatest motor sports show on the planet?
Be sure to stay tuned to www.monsterjamonline.com as we get ready for the NGK Spark Plugs World Finals in Las Vegas March 27-28, 2009!

See you down the road!
