Eleven straight years Thunder Nationals has invaded the Wright State University and the Nutter center. Year after year there have been a number of events happening in the area that has competed with this show, and this year is no different. The opening round of the NCAA Tournament is down the road and those big basketball fans are trickling down to the Nutter center to watch the big names in Monster Jam.         
The Wheelie contest was first on the list and Full Boar started us out with a wheel stand that earned him a 15. Iron Warrior followed with a 13 the same as Bad News until Brutus and Rap Attack wowed the judges for scores of 20 and the lead. Black Stallion stood his truck up on the tail gate to take the lead away with a score of 22, but again that wouldn’t last as Avenger went up by one with a score of 23. Grave Digger was the last to go and won the first event with a score of 24 as the rest of the night was just as close.
Grave Digger continued his winning streak by making it into the finals and defeating Avenger by a truck length. Digger made it there with wins over Rap Attack in round one and Full Boar in the semi finals. Avenger was fast all night also by defeating Iron Warrior by inches in round one and Bad News in the semi Finals. Bad News had a win over Black Stallion in round one as well as Full Boar defeating Brutus.
Diggers win streak came to an end when Avenger spun his way to the doughnut competition win with an awesome doughnut and a score of 24. The floor was very slippery for the first night of this Thunder Nation event and each truck had a tough time getting their trucks to settle in the middle of the floor for doughnuts. Grave Digger and Bad News was next with scores of 23, and Full Boar was next with a 20. Full Boar blew his transmission on his doughnut and was out for freestyle. Black Stallion finished with a 19 followed by Brutus with a 18 and Iron Warrior with an 11. Rap Attack rounded out the field with a 6.
Grave Digger took away the freestyle victory from Black Stallion when he scored a 23 beating Stallion by one point. Both trucks wowed the fans and Vatters even pulled off the reverse move after the clock had expired. Rap Attack was third with 20 and some great wheelie moves, and Bad News was next with an 18. Team Scream tied with scores of 17 (Brutus and Avenger) as Iron Warrior was last with a score of 15.

      A sunny Saturday afternoon and no bad weather is insight this year in Dayton Ohio. In the past the weather has been worse than better forcing some of the Thunder National fans to not come out. This year the fans can’t wait to see their favorite Monster Trucks.
      The action for the day started with Rap Attack taking a hard hit on the landing of his wheelie in the wheelie contest and rolled the truck over as the fans stood on their feet for more. Grave Digger also had the fans screaming for more when he defeated Bad News in the finals of racing to take that trophy. Black Stallion was also a big Winner when he won the wheelie contest and the freestyle with some sick air off of the van stack. But the loudest cheers came from the doughnut competition when Full Boar lit up the floor with an awesome cyclone giving him the win along with Avenger doing the same and loosing by one point.
      In all there was three different winners this afternoon in four competitions and team Ohio won the Quad war challenge. The awesome fans here in Dayton also got to see for the first time ever the Kamakazi Jet Quad driven by Mike Vatters. Here are the scores and racing results.
