Weekend Race Recap
Friday:
It has been a great first night here in Albuquerque, NM at The Tingley Coliseum. A first night packed with Monster Jam Fans from Albuquerque, and all surrounding areas!
We started our day with a beautiful weather down here which served for a great night of Monster Jam competition. Albuquerque is another great and competitive stop on our road to the NGK Spark Plugs World Championship in Las Vegas, and people here realize the importance of that.
We started the night with Monster Jam Wheelie competition. Our first truck was non other than Albuquerque’s own monster truck, Pit Bull, driven by Charles Benns, who obviously had a great reception from the crowd. A great start for Bens who went fast on the track, and then performed a great wheelie that definitely caught the Judges eyes. Pit Bull had a score of 21. As a matter of fact, he was the third highest score for wheelies. Afterwards we had Grave Digger with 22 pts, with an impressive verticality and a great landing on those two front wheels. But Competition ain’t over yet, that seems to have been said by Lupe Sosa on el Toro Loco, who performed a very high vertical jump, which conquered the score cards with 24 pts.
Other scores: Monster Mutt, 18; Barbarian 16; Cult Energy Activator 14; Superman 20. Sudden Impact wasn’t able to perform in Wheelie competition due to mechanical problem that prevented him from competing.

El Toro Loco does several hits on the crush cars, and jumps over the dirt hill and gets 28 pts. But then there was one more truck left, Grave Digger. Who came really fast and really aggressive on the jumps, getting the characteristic high flying jumps over the hills and especially the highest dirt hill, Chad Tingler gets 30 pts, and conquers the win for Freestyle tonight. It has been one great last day of Monster Jam Competition here in Albuquerque,New Mexico. The weather has been gracious to our weekend event, not to mention the warmth that all the New Mexico’s fans have for Monster Jam.
Great audience, great competition what else could we have asked for. We started the afternoon with Monster Jam wheelie, having once a again as a high scorer Devin Jones on Barbarian. He is a one year rookie of Monster Jam but he has been doing great, especially when you consider the fact that he has been facing veterans like Lupe Sosa(El Toro Loco) and Chad Tingler(Grave Digger). Jones had a score of 23 points, second highest in wheelies today. Monster Mutt made 21 pts. Superman 19m Sudden Impact 19, Cult 16, El Toro 16 and Pit Bull 15. Grave Diggers took away any chances of winning to the previous competitor as he got 28 pts from the judges after doing a great wheelie, with a lot of power and the Grave Digger truck just floored in order to get such a great jump over the crush cars. Chad Tingler won wheelie also on Saturday night.
