RECAP
In what may end up being remembered as the Freestyle Event of the Year Adam Anderson won his second straight freestyle filling in for his father in Grave Digger XX, and John Seasock recorded possibly the biggest victory of his career when he won the racing finals in front of a sold out crowd in Atlanta's Georgia Dome.

Tony Farrell started the night out by setting the fastest qualifying time on the head-to-head course in his Blue Thunder Ford. That set up one of the wildest first rounds of racing ever seen. After Farrell drove Blue Thunder into the second round with a bye run, Tom Meents was flying in his race, a Maximum Destruction win over Allen Pezo in Prowler. After crossing the finish line, Meents could not get Max-D stopped on the slick Georgia clay and crashed onto the wall protection. Major repairs were needed to get the seven-time World Champion's truck ready for freestyle and his racing night prematurely ended. Later in the first round, Adam Anderson, driving Grave Digger, battled Scott Hartsock in his brand new Gunslinger. The race was even to the final turn, when the Digger surprisingly flipped over onto its roof knocking Grave Digger out of racing. Closing in on the final rounds the racing tightening up to some of the most competitive levels possible including a pair of photo finishes. One of the closest races ever was in the semifinals when Gunslinger edged Blue Thunder in a race that required several video looks to determine the result. The finale also came down to a photo, with Seasock muscling Batman across the finish line inches ahead of Gunslinger for the victory.

In freestyle, to no one's surprise Chris Bergeron went big in Brutus and had the early lead. He held on to his spot in the hot seat until late in the event when Farrell in Blue Thunder and Jim Koehler in Avenger rocked the house. Blue Thunder's score of 28 from the three judges putting Farrell in the hot seat. Then it was Grave Digger time and Adam brought all 65,000 + fans to their feet with an incredible run that included several seemingly impossible saves. Meents' crew fixed Maximum Destruction in time to freestyle and Meents kept every fan on their feet with his huge air assault that included a full 360 degree rollover, Max-D landing on all four wheels and Tom not missing a beat, continuing the full run. Both Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction received scores of 29 from the judges, and while a crowd cheer-off gave the win to Grave Digger the real winners were the Atlanta fans, and the Speed TV fans that will see the event on Monster Jam later this year.

In other action Joie Chitwood of Anderson, SC, won the Auto Cross main; Trevor Vines won the Freestyle Motocross; and Team Florida won Quad Wars.
