Only the fans in Anaheim , CA , "obviously thirsty for some wild action," were crazy enough to brave the cold, wet, and windy conditions tonight.  The drivers were also just as nuts as the fans. It was said earlier in the day that if there was 5000 or 35000 in attendance it didn’t matter to them, they were ready to hang it out for THE FANS.  Hang it out they did!  Through the rain, wind and slick tracks conditions, the qualifying times kept getting quicker and quicker.  Lindsey Weenk and Iron Outlaw laid down the quickest time and after racing was all said and done, the young gun had kept his perfect record for 2006 alive.  That’s right; Lindsey is undefeated in qualifying, heat racing and finals appearances.

In free-style it was another whole story line.  Brian Winston and his "Hot Wheels" Ford stomped the field.  Probably the coolest moment of the night was when Brian drove his "Hot Wheels" monster over to the section of the stadium where he knew there was seated about 200 of his sponsors employees and executives.  He stopped, acknowledged them and went out and scored a perfect 30.  HUGE air over the 8' tall table top jump which propelled "Hot Wheels" at least another 30' to 40' higher.

There wasn’t a dry seat in the house!  It was because it was raining and everyone was STANDING!  And it didn’t let up during the "Del Taco Demolition Derby."  It’s an amazing thing to witness and to listen to over 35000 people scream and react to the car crushing fender bending going on down on the floor.  The OTHER amazing thing, NO ONE WAS LEAVING!  Well, the invite has now been extended to all SoCal residents.  In 2 weeks we'll be right back at it again here in Anaheim .  It wont be hard to beat the weather conditions, but it WILL be hard to beat the action.  Everyone will just have to show up to find out! See you then.
