Weekend Race Recap
Saturday
The Del Taco Monster Jam was a smashing success!! The usual suspects were taken out early in the elimination rounds of monster truck racing. Kreg Cristensen put himself and Dragon Slayer in the final against Ricky Swanson and Obsession. Blue Thunder went to the semi final only to have a mechanical failure take him out of racing. Digger also went out early, and had to wait for freestyle to return. The final was a knock down drag out, and a photo finish to boot. Slayer blew across the built ford tough finish line and got a little out of sorts and went into the wall. Obsession got the nod and the win in front of a sell out crowd in the Angels Stadium.
Team Anaheim lost both heat races only to return in the main and put a stomping to team Oaklnad on the final lap.
The LBZ freestyle team wowed the crowd with big air sessions that had the crowd freaking!! All 4 riders put on an extreme demonstration.
Kreg Cristensen and Dragon Slayer were out for the night, but his son, driving Thunderstruck, come out blazing in the Snap-On Tools Monster Truck Freestyle competition. His 25 held up until Linsey Weenk and Jurassic Attack posted a 26!!! Linsey is in total control of his truck and it shows. The competition slowed for a few minutes as several trucks broke in the beginning of their run.
Digger waited patiently in the wings only to bust out a awesome run. The judges finally relented some 10's as Digger got the only 30.
