Sunday
Another big Ford party in the pit's, courtesy of Al Packer ford in Whitemarsh, MD started off a championship Sunday afternoon in Baltimore.

We started of the opening with a pair of Maryland drivers doing a incredible sky wheelie bringing the fans to the edge of their seats. Mike Vaters and Rick Disharoon gave the crowd a true Ushra photo moment and set the tone for the rest of the day.

After qualifying the fastest time was Grave Digger with 1.59, which also happened to be the fastest time of the weekend.

The 1st heat of Quad Wars Team Pittsburg captured the checkered flag. In monster racing, Little Tiger took out Devastator, and Backdraft put a sudden stop on Sudden Impact to advance on. Grave Digger stuck it on Eradicator and Raging Steel lost his rear steering pump giving Black Stallion the easy win.

In the 2nd heat of quad wars, Team Pittsburg did it again with some hard racing.

In monster racing round 2 semi finals, Little Tiger smoked Black Stalion  to advance on to the monster finals.  Grave Digger beat Backdraft to take on the world champion, Brian Barthel.

With a strained voice today, I asked for the help of my close friend, Bobby Cox, also known as Hot Rod.  He helped as the true professional he is.  In my opinion, he should be a USHRA announcer.  I just wanted to say thanks "BOB".

After intermission today, we witnessed a marvel from PJ Hall, as he jumped his quad across the length of four monster trucks, spaning over seventy feet with a perfect landing.  He brought the crowd to their feet at the First Mariner Arena.

Monster finals,  including Grave Digger and Little Tiger, who are both world champion trucks, lined up on the Advanced Auto Parts starting line.  With black and white checkered flags in the air, when the light went green so did the drivers.  When they landed, the reigning world champion, Brian Barthel, claimed the victory for the first time of the weekend.

Quad War finals brought Maryland's Baltimore team across the checkered flag first in the main event.

Normally, Mike Vaters leaves Baltimore with at least one win in Freestyle, but this weekend was a little different.  After breaking his rear axil doing the sky wheelie at the beginning of the show Saterday afternoon, and breaking the MAG point box during racing Saterday night, kept him from competing in the first two freestyle competitions.  Mike Vaters was determined to leave here with a freestyle trophey.  He did everything possible, even reversing a long jump, and the judges awarded him 29 points with one truck left to go.

Randy Brown had just watched Mike Vaters launch a gallant effort to win the freestyle.  He knew he had to get some major air, performing big wheelies and long jumps.  Just as the light turned red, ending his sixty second freestyle run, he landed wrong slamming the truck on its side in the middle of the First Mariner Arena.  Before Randy could climb from the truck the judges were already standed on their feet holding up 3 perfect ten scores.  Yet another freestyle win for the Grave Digger Racing Team.

In conclusion, thanks to the USHRA staff at the Baltimore Monster Jam, the fans enjoyed great family entertainment.

Thanks to Clear Channel, for giving me the oportunity to travel the country and become part of such a professional team.  Completed by USHRA announcer, Chip Ridgely.  See ya in Vegas.
