Despite spending most of the winter competing in the large stadiums on the Monster Jam circuit, Mike Vaters returned to the Thunder Nationals action Friday & dominated the action in Jonesboro, AR. Vaters won the Racing, Freestyle, and Skywheelie competitions, while Mike Nitschke in Rambo scored the highest in donuts.

David Bryant of Mobile, AL won the Lawn Mower Racing feature.

Saturday

Mike Vaters completed a successful return to the Thunder Nationals for the weekend, sweeping all 4 monster truck competitions in his Black Stallion Ford Saturday night at the Arkansas State Universtiy Convocation Center.

Vaters, who will be back in the field for the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas 2 weeks from tonight, had no problems adapting back to the smaller concrete floor after a winter of stadium racing. After winning the sky wheelie, donut, & freestyle competitions, Vaters beat reigning Thunder Nationals champ, Diehl Wilson & Virginia Giant in the racing finals.
