Weekend Race Recap
Wichita, KS (January 17-19, 2003)

Friday
A great crowd showed up tonight at the Kansas Coliseum to witness a little bit of history.  Making his first appearance, Grave Digger nearly mopped the coliseum floor with the other Monster Trucks. Off the start Grave Digger had the jump and the lead until the final corner when Big Dawg made a perfect turn and crossed the line for the win. In the Freestyle Motrocross competition, Cody Elkins literally had the crowd coming out of the stands on his final jump.  Fans saw such tricks as superman, cliffhanger and the cordova. And this is only the beginning for the 3-show weekend.

Saturday
It can only be said in one word, WOW!  Everything that hit the track at the Kansas Coliseum tonight was on fire.  The crowd was absolutely at the edge of their seat all night long.  In motocross freestyle, once again, it was Cody Elkins from Weatherford, OK that brought the dome roof down with breathtaking, heart-stopping tricks.  BUT, BUT, BUT,  one more time, it was the decided underdog in monster racing that stole the show from everyone else including Grave digger.  When the 2 monsters came to the line for racing finals, Frank Krmel and his PURE ADRENALIN ford knew what he had to do.  Randy Brown and Gravedigger were off the line first but as in the finals the night before, it was the underdog that made the “perfect” final turn and crossed the line for the win.  Needless to say, Frank Kreml’s interview was extremely exciting.  Props also go to the fans here at the Kansas Coliseum.  They were so into tonight’s action even “HOT ROD” had 3 separate fans with home-made “HOT ROD – YOU DA’ MAN” posters.

Sunday
Finally, finally, the gremlin is off the back of Randy Brown and Grave Digger.  Coming so close all weekend long to a clean sweep of the wheelie contest, doughnut contest, free-style, and finally this afternoon Randy took home the checkered flag in the racing portion of today's show.  We cant forget about the unbelieveable freestyle motocross competition again today.  With each pass, all three riders had the Kansas Colesium on it's feet, but it came down to Cody Elkins and his Suzuki that had them "rock'in" the house.  It was unanimus in the autograph line with the fans, they are coming back in 2004!
