Record Breaking Performance

Authored by Monster Jam on November 11, 2022

With his third straight Freestyle win in Australia, Scott Buetow and Team Hot WheelsTM have etched their names in the Monster Jam® record book for the most consecutive stadium Freestyle victories in one season. A pair of wins at Melbourne’s AAMI Park on Saturday, October 8 stretched the streak to six straight, which also equals the consecutive Freestyles of Ryan Anderson in 2011-2012.

The accomplishments began at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey in June. Team Hot Wheels Firestorm took the top spot with an inspiring 36 and then moved on to Nashville, Tennessee. With Monster Jam making its first appearance in Nissan Stadium, Buetow wanted to give the crowd a little something extra and wowed them with a performance that led to the second straight win and a second straight score of 36. It would take more than that when the tour rolled to Foxborough, Massachusetts. After a disappointing performance in 2015, Buetow wanted to show the fans at Gillette Stadium what he could do. The end result was a 41 and a third straight victory.

Buetow would have to wait more than three months between stadium appearances, picking up the action in Brisbane, Australia. The victory there was number four to set the stage for Melbourne.

Prior to starting his ongoing string of victories, Buetow and Team Hot Wheels Firestorm recorded two additional stadium Freestyle wins. Those victories came at Anaheim and New Orleans, giving the team a total of eight for the 2016 season.
