DRIVER HISTORY
Trey Myers started his career in monster trucks through Mike Vaters of Black Stallion, working his way through the ranks of being a crew member for six years until getting a chance to drive Vaters' Battle Kat tank. After an injury to Vaters put him into driving duty in Black Stallion, Myers had his chance. After Vaters recovered, the Iron Warrior truck came into Vaters’ possession through a lease with the owner, Glenn Bowlin, and Myers became a full-time driver. Myers’ rise through the ranks started with little more than a joke in the shop one day.

“I bought an old leaf spring chassis because I wanted a nice show truck, just something to enjoy. I needed some tires and rims and contacted Mike,” says Myers. “I got to joking with Mike that I wanted to tag along and see how the pros did it (they had met once before through mutual friends), and Mike said, ‘Sure, come along!’”

Myers recently completed a successful first season with Iron Warrior on the Monster Jam circuit, and is thankful for the opportunities he has been given.

“I never would have expected to be in this position before,” says Myers. “Now that it has happened, though, I am enjoying every minute of it.”

When Myers isn’t racing Iron Warrior, he is still very busy as a graphic designer and painter for anything from street trucks to monster trucks. He has done the paint for trucks like Rap Attack and the Eradicator street truck, and many more, usually working six days a week and traveling countless miles to do so. He also made school a priority, and recently earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Myers has some advice for anyone who wants to have a career in monster trucks.

“I want to tell anyone who is interested in doing this for a living to believe in their dreams,” he says. “You can achieve doing this by working hard. Grab your opportunities!”
