Friday Night

What a night in Florida!! 6 of the best Monster Jam trucks and drivers on earth converged on the BB&T Center to battle in 4 different competitions. Neil Elliot and Max D, still celebrating a decade of MAXIMUM DESTRUCTION, tore down the house...literally. Neil won racing by feathering the throttle off the line until he felt the truck hook up and the LAUNCHED the futuristic SUV to the victory over Monster Mutt and Whit Tarlton. Max D and Neil broke the strangle hold that Team Grave Digger has had the last two years here in Sunrise breaking the 18 race round win streak. Whit and the Mutt gave a valiant effort and had there been an instant replay things may have went Monster Mutt's way. Neil wasn't done winning just yet. He won the donut contest by turning a 4 wheel donut into a 2 wheel CYCLONE!!
JP Ruggerio also touched victory lane by winning the opening contest, the wheelie contest. JP and El Diablo met all of the judges criteria; high, far and vertical to capture the win. Rounding out the winners list was Damn Bradshaw and Monster Energy. Damon won freestyle with a wild off the chain run that we have to anticipate and expect from the 2009 Monster Jam Freestyle World Champion. Damon and the Monster Energy ride had huge and a cyclone that rivaled Max D's performance from the donut contest. For the 1st time in 2 years here in Sunrise, and who knows how long on the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam tour, Gary Porter and Grave Digger went home without a win. Gary put a tremendous effort into the entire night but just couldn't lock one down. And Whit Tarlton was close in racing, donuts and wheelies, just coming up shy each time. Scott Hartsock and Gun Slinger may not have been in victory lane Friday, but there is lots of weekend left!

Saturday 2 pm

Neil Elliot went from 2 wins on Friday night to 3 wins on Saturday afternoon. Neil won the donut contest, again with a side wall 2 wheel cyclone!!! Max D and Neil went on to win the racing main event and the freestyle competition, doubling down on Saturday.

JP Ruggerio and El Diablo went to the winners circle Saturday with yet another win in the wheelie contest. Dude knows how to make a truck stand straight up and down!!!

Whit Tarlton and Monster Mutt were in the final vs. Max D and again came up just short...again. It's as if Max D has a mid flight jet pack that accelerates him to the fisnish line first.

Gary Porter and Grave Digger performed well, although broken rear steer parts kept him from free styling. Scott Hartsock and Gun Slinger are getting closer to victory lane, methodically putting together a run at victory lane.

Saturday Night

Back to his winning ways in Florida!! Gary Porter and Team Grave Digger won the racing final on Saturday night trying to start another extended win streak.
Neil Elliot and Max D won the freestyle event by a narrow margin over Grave Digger.

JP Ruggerio and El Diablo made it a hat trick in the wheelie contest winning his 3rd wheelie plaque of the weekend.
Scott Hartsock in Gun Slinger and Whit Tarton driving Monster Mutt both ran the trucks to the ragged edge on Saturday night, and while they did not make it to victory lane, their fans were the winners! Damon Bradshaw the driver of Monster Energy is such a pleasure to watch run hi struck. Damon is always up for smashing and bashing a high rate of speed...the pace that he charges at in the truck is one of the highlights of any Monster Jam.
