Friday night

Friday night “party in the pits”, very enthusiastic fans, southern hospitality, & beautiful weather outside were all the ingredients that were needed for a blast of a night inside the Colonial Life Arena for Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam. Starting right off with the Monster Jam Wheelie Contest, it was during the pre-show interview I had with Mike Vaters that I called him the loose cannon once he hits the track. Well, in the wheelie contest he proved me absolutely correct with that call as he claimed the win rather easily against some of the best in the Monster Jam business.

Monster Jam Wheelie Contest Results:
Iron Warrior – 6/6/7 = 19
Nightmare – 5/5/6 = 16
War Wizard – 6/6/6 = 18
Monster Mutt – 6/7/8 = 21
Black Stallion – 8/8/8 = 24
Grave Digger – 7/7/8 = 22

In Monster Jam Racing, it was a whole “nother” story. It was the typical Gary Porter & Grave Digger show that just dominated round after round all the way into the UTI Monster Jam Finals. Once there, it was fairly close, but even the wagging tongue of Monster Mutt couldn’t beat the front bumper of Digger across the Advance Auto Parts finish line. Another win to Digger.

Monster Jam UTI Racing Finals Results:
Round 1:
Digger defeated Black Stallion
Monster Mutt defeated Iron Warrior
Nightmare defeated War Wizard
Round 2:
Digger defeated War Wizard (came back as fast looser from round 1)
Monster Mutt defeated Nightmare
UTI FINALS:
Digger defeated Monster Mutt

Monster Jam Freestyle was a much closer competition as every 10,000lb behemoth scored in the 20s. But as usual, it was Gary Porter & Grave Digger that stuck their nose out there just a little further than the rest of the field scoring a 25 and just enough to add to the legendary career count of freestyle wins.

Monster Jam Freestyle Results:
Iron Warrior – 7/7/6 = 20
Nightmare – 7/7/8 = 22
War Wizard – 7/7/7 = 21
Monster Mutt – 8/8/7 = 23
Black Stallion – 8/8/6 = 22
Grave Digger – 8/8/9 = 25

Saturday 2pm

It had to be probably one of the best attended Advance Auto Monster Jam Parts Party In the Pits I’ve ever been a part of, no matter what venue it was, or where I was in the country. The Columbia Monster Jam fans absolutely ROCKED the arena this afternoon. I can’t imagine what our last show tonight is going to be like.
The Monster Jam Wheelie Competition belonged to multi-time Thunder Nationals Champion Mike Vaters & Black Stallion. Three scores of 9 with a total of 27 was just enough to add to the grand total of career wins for Vaters.

Monster Jam Wheelie Contest Results:
Iron Warrior – 7/7/7 = 21
Nitemare – 8/8/6 = 22
War Wizard – 8/8/7 = 23
Monster Mutt – 8/8/9 = 25
Black Stallion – 9/9/9 = 27
Grave Digger – 9/9/8 = 26

Monster Jam Racing was a complete repeat of last night’s racing action. ALL Grave Digger. From round 1 in the bracket all the way through to the UTI MONSTER JAM FINALS. Digger’s opponent in the finals, looked just as strong, as Mike Vaters & Black Stallion eliminated all their competitors as well all the way into the finals, but in the end, it was Grave Digger claiming another victory to the long resume that is the history of the legend.

Monster Jam Racing Results:
Round 1:
Black Stallion defeated War Wizard
Monster Mutt defeated Nightmare
Grave Digger defeated Iron Warrior
Round 2:
Black Stallion defeated War Wizard (fast loser from 1st round)
Grave Digger defeated Monster Mutt
UTI CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS:
Grave Digger defeated Black Stallion

Monster Jam Freestyle was the final scheduled event of the afternoon. Without a doubt, the fans were more than ready. What they witnessed during the freestyle competition today, probably sold a few tickets for tonight’s final show of the weekend. It was that good. It was pretty good to see the ol’ stallion himself Mike Vaters claim victory in yet another Monster Jam Freestyle.

Monster Jam Freestyle Results:
Iron Warrior – 7/7/7 = 21
Nitemare – 7/6/6 = 19
War Wizard – 6/6/6 = 18
Monster Mutt – 8/8/7 = 23
Black Stallion – 9/9/8 = 26
Grave Digger – 8/8/7 = 23

Saturday night

What started out as a competition between six Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam trucks turned into of a total domination of one truck over all the others. But even with that being said, the fans were still treated to great action, “over the edge” driving, and wonderful driver/fan interaction that can ONLY be found at an Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam event.
Tonight, this night, the WHOLE night belonged to Gary Porter & Grave Digger. Every contest, every competition, heck, every time Digger hit the floor, they WON! Tonight, it was GAME – SET – MATCH – GRAVE DIGGER & GARY PORTER!
