7:00pm

For the second straight year at the Edward Jones Dome a sold out crowd was on hand for Sixteen of the best Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Trucks to compete in Monster Jam Racing and Freestyle. The Dome was electric even when the Monster Jam drivers came on stage to draw their Qualifying numbers. One by one we went through the draw and the second to last Monster Jam Driver to make their selection was Adam Anderson. Adam drew the second qualifying position and was in the first pair when it came to qualify. Anderson stated he didn't like the number but being his first ever time here in St. Louis he was going to make an impression the Monster Jam fans wouldn't forget. He did back up his words with the fastest time of the night to take the number one seed in round one of Monster Jam Racing with a fast time of 21.85 seconds.

Tonights racing wasere set up as a So Cal style track which is somewhat new to the Mid West but was done here two years ago. On this unique style Monster Jam Race track it becomes a drivers course as the veterans normally shine the best. The Legend had the first race of the night as he easily defeated Iron Warrior who rolled in turn number two. In other first round races Backdraft defeated last years Racing winner Bounty Hunter while Raminator advanced with a photo finish over the crowd favorite Scooby Doo. The second round of racing was even closer as each Monster Jam Truck went faster and faster to improve not only their position in racing but also their lane choice in the semi finals. All eyes as the races went on were focused on The Legend. Anderson was so fast and smooth it would seem that no one would beat him unless he made a mistake and that he would. In the Semi Finals he faced off against Captain America and in the final turn heading for the finish line The Legend was assed a 5 second penalty for not getting both front tires on the finishing ramp giving Captain America the win. The other Semi Finals match also had a close race as Captains Curse the (second fastest of the night) loose to Grave Digger with a mistake in the far turn giving Digger the easy win. In the Finals the same thing would happen to Grave Digger as he over drove the first turn giving Captain America a huge lead going into the final turn giving Chad Fortune his first stadium racing win of the year.
From Monster Jam Racing to Freestyle we went and the action only got better. Some of the most amazing moves that I have seen in ten years of announcing for the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam happened in front of this sold out crowd. Even though there were a lot of great saves and awesome high lights nothing lived up to The Legend Freestyle performance. Anderson was on a mission and when Max D. rolled early in his freestyle the officials left the truck sit were it had rolled over which was in the center of the freestyle floor. Half way through The Legend's run he decided to jump over the rolled over Max-D and when he cleared it the crowd erupted as Adam continued for nearly two more minutes after the clock had expired to take the Freestyle trophy. Now that didn't come as easy as I made it sound because Carl Van Horn still had to perform with his Grave Digger and wouldn't you know it but he too took on Max-D. and jumped over the Monster Jam Truck in his freestyle run. The only difference in the two performances was Grave Digger did it when the clock expired giving him third place to Captains Curse.
