Friday Night 

Long Island came to life on Friday night with 3 separate acts for Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam.

Act 1 was the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Wheelie Contest and Monster Jam Racing. The big winner in the wheelies, besides the fans, was Greg Winchenbach and Crushstation. Greg said he was under orders to put the truck on it's tail and that is exactly what he did. Romping the loud pedal, the monster lobster was vertical with it's tail on the ground.  The only one to come close to the Crushstation was the other 3D truck, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Joey Parnell.  Parnell also got the truck to stand up, but not quite as vertical as Greg.

Racing was next out.  Chicago style obstacle course racing.  Randy Brown and Grave Digger proved to be the fastest around the course in all 3 of his races, and especially in the UTI championship round, running away from teammate Joey Parnell and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles truck.

Act 2 was the 2 wheel exhibition.  3 FMX riders and the Flores family in the globe.  At one point, all 3 Flores family members were buzzing inside the globe while all 3 FMX riders were launching over the top of them.  A spectacle indeed.

Act 3 consisted of the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Donut Competition and Monster Jam Freestyle. Randy Brown and Grave Digger took the spotlight in both competitions, going a little bit bigger and harder than the rest of the stars of Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam.

Saturday 2pm 

4 different events, 4 different winners. Greg Winchenbach and Crushstation won the wheelie contest, dragging the monsta lobsta tail across the crush cars. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Truck and Joey Parnell won the UTI Championship Round of Racing. Grave Digger, with Randy Brown in the seat, won the donut contest, but at a cost. The rear drive axle on the right side broke during the near cyclone, but upon further inspection, it had also torn up the pinion. The pinion gear would keep Grave Digger out of freestyle, which was won by Mike Hawkins and the Lucas Oil Equalizer. Mike had a killer run, with huge air and a fast pace around the obstacles.

The hard core pace and passion of the drivers is starting to take it's toll on the trucks. As already mentioned, Grave Digger had a rear end issue, and Crushstation had an undisclosed mechnical problem that kept him from running in freestyle as well. The rest of the best put on a killer show and the fans were tons appreciative.

Saturday Night

Double Down!! Finally a monster truck and driver made the Double Down in Long Island. As it turned out it was Team Grave Digger and driver Randy Brown, winning both racing and freestyle. Randy and Grave Digger also won the Donut contest and came in 2nd in the wheelie contest. A great showing, celebrating the 30th Anniversary in style here in Uniondale, NY. Greg Winchenbach in Crushstation kept their win streak alive by winning the wheelie contest. There is just something about a Monsta Lobsta dragging it's tail across the crush cars that turn the crowd and judges on!!

Higher Education supplied the worst metal carnage of the night when the truck sheered off the right rear tire at the knuckle, and then broke deeper down the line at the champagne as well. The Bus/Monster Truck was left on the race track for the rest of the freestyle performances.

All of the monster trucks and drivers did an outstanding job; Hitting the cars and vans at high RPM, blowing donuts that turned to cyclones and wowing the fans in the stands.

Sunday 2pm

The weekend on Long Island came a close with Grave Digger and Crushstation splitting the wins. Greg Winchenbach and the monsta lobsta won the wheelie and donut competitions while Randy Brown and Grave Digger won racing and freestyle. Both drivers give the fans what they want to see, big air and a reckless style of driving that seems to be right on the edge of disaster. The Crushstation drug it's tail across the crush cars for a 4th consecutive wheelie win and then came out and turned a donut into a cyclone, blowing smoke from all 4 tires.

Randy Brown and Grave Digger were just smooth and consistent in the Chicago Style Obstacle Course Racing. Keeping the truck low and on the track, Randy made fast passes to win the UTI Championship Round of Racing. Then in freestyle it was just the opposite. Flying high, and burning around the raceway as if someone was chasing him.
