Thanks to the Houston Texans Getting home field advantage this weekend for the NFL wild card game it allowed Tom Meents to make the trek North east instead of South West. That's right! For the first time in the long history of Monster Jam coming to Rochester New York not only was the nine time World Champion on hand but also a field of seven trucks. The arena was packed full of screaming fans for the anticipation of Maximum Destruction and Grave Diggers 30th Anniversary tour.
The Night started off with the wheelie contest as Bari Musawwir and his new ride Spiderman took the first victory of 2012 with a nail biting stand it on its rear end wheelie. The crowd was on their feet as the judges gave Spiderman a 23 for a one point win over Grave Digger. Max D. and Eradicator both tied for third. That victory for Bari was a huge confident builder as this is a completely new truck with a limited line of sight than the El Toro Loco truck he drove last year.
Racing was next as the field was set by the score they received in the wheelie contest. That meant Spiderman would get the buy and a free pass into the semi finals. This was a great chance for Spiderman to get that much closer to another trophy but it wouldn't last long. Eradicator was to fast for everyone and took the racing trophy with a huge win over Maximum Destruction. Slifko was so excited to kick off his anniversary year of 15 with a huge win for the night.
The last two events for the night belong to Tom Meents the nine time world champion. Maximum Destruction won the doughnut competition with a high score of 29 then set out to win freestyle with a 26. Both performances were very impressive with wild cyclones and huge air that had the Rochester fans screaming for more. Here are the results from tonight's competitions.

If you read the Power Rankings for the start of the season you already might have seen a mix up in early season picks. One might be Chad Tingler. Although impressive in Grave Digger he was he would go away tonight with out a victory for his loyal fans. Maybe I'm reading in to it too far with two more shows to go but his is a world class field fighting with everything they have to win.

What a night is was in Rochester New York! A sold out crowd for the first time in years witness an amazing battle between Maximum Destruction and Grave Digger. If that wasn't enough you add in Stone Crusher, Back Draft, Eradicator and Spiderman you have a world caliber field that wanted it all.
The night again started with off with an awesome display of wheelies that led to another different winner for the weekend. Steve Simms wheelied his way to victory with a high score of 24 which was 4 points higher than second place finisher Max D. Next was racing and you would not believe the electricity that the fans were giving off when both Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction pulled to the line for the UTI Championship race. When the green flag dropped Grave Digger edged out Maximum Destruction by inches in a classic matchup.
Doughnuts and freestyle was again awesome like the night before and again Tom Meents who is on a mission took both victories. Meents was on a rail as he wowed the crowd with some sick air and crazy doughnuts to keep the fans begging for more. Grave Digger also stepped up his game as Tingler took second in freestyle and in the doughnut contest for a solid night. The brake out win we are all still waiting for is from Jeremy Slifco. Jeremy look to win tonight’s freestyle but blew a tire and had to quit thirty seconds into his run. He still scored a 19 with thirty seconds left on the clock. Here are tonight’s results.

Another record crowd was on hand to watch seven amazing Monster Trucks reek havoc in the Blue Cross arena. There is no doubt in my mind that Tom Meents is not going to drop from the number one position in the power rankings for the first week. Maximum Destruction was on a terror as he won two more events for the weekend bringing his total to six. Grave Digger and Eradicator also wrapped up the weekend with two wins as Stone Crusher and Spider man each had one win each.
Today’s wheelie winner was Eradicator with a tail gate stand that had the crowd on their feet even as the truck rolled over off of the last car in the stack. The bad landing on the trunk off the last car caused the truck to pitch to one side and over it went. From there no one could come close to beating him. Racing was also just as exciting as Grave Digger took out Maximum Destruction in the semi finals to go on and Defeat Spiderman in the championship race.
Doughnuts again were dominated by Maximum Destruction. He out scored the field with a high 29 which was eight points higher than second place finisher Grave Digger. Tom also scored a 27 in Freestyle which was a five point lead over Stone Crusher. The entire day was filled with awesome Wheelies, close racing, mind blowing Doughnuts and wicked freestyles leaving the fans craving for more. Here are the rest of the results.
