For the first time since 2009 the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam return to Tupelo, Mississippi to the Bancorp South Arena. What a spectacular night as the great fans of Tupelo were treated to six if the best Monster trucks in the world for four exciting competitions. Just to give you an idea on how big this show was for the fans, five of the six Monster Trucks have already qualified for the World Finals.
The night started of with the wheelie contest and right from the start the fans knew to keep an eye out for the young Morgan Kane in Mopar Magic. Kane started us out in wheelies with two awesome hits and took the early lead with a 14. The judges were a little harsh on the scores tonight but they were consistant. Turtle was next and only scored a 12 but Steve Sims in Stone Crusher step up and excited the fans with a score of 20 for the lead. Advance Auto Parts Grinder tried to out do that score but fell short with a 15. Mohawk Warrior was next and Balhan took the lead with a 21 and two spectacular wheelies but it wasn't enough. Grave Digger took the win by one point over Mohawk as the great fans of Tupelo were on their feet for more. Greave Digger scored a 22.
Racing was next and Teenage Mutant Turtle stole the hearts of all the young fans by defeating the field of six for a huge championship win. Aaron Basl defeated Mopar Magic in the finals and did it by beating Mohawk Warrior in round one and Stone Crusher(fastlooser)in the semi finals. Mopar Magic was also awesome in racing as Morgan Kane drove to victories over Grinder in round one and Grave Digger in the semi finals. The other first round race win went to Grave Digger as he defeated Stone Crusher.
With two more contest to go any thing could happen with these six trucks and yes another winner prevailed. This time it was Mohawk Warrior winning the Doughnut competition by two points over Grinder and he didn't stop there. Balhan also won freestyle over Grave Digger by one point to be the only two time winner for the night. In both competitions Grave Digger had some problems. Huffaker could not get the Black and Green Wrecking machine to sit still in doughnuts forcing him to quit early and in freestyle he flatten both right side tires to end the run before time could expire. here are the results of Doughnuts and Freestlye.
