Friday NightRandy Brown and Grave Digger put an end to the 3 week long, 8 main event win streak put together by Frank Krmel and the Advance Auto Parts Grinder. Randy had flawless runs all the way through the elimination rounds and in the main event by putting the truck in a four wheel drift in both corners and squaring for the car stacks with his throttle foot on the floor. Randy and Grave Digger doubled down in Providence, winning the UTI Championship round of Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam racing and the Service is our Best Part Advance Auto Parts Freestyle Competition.
Frank and Advance Auto Parts Grinder had a small mistake in his last turn that cost him a chance at the win and an opportunity to keep the streak alive. Maybe he can start a new streak on Saturday. Frank and Advance Auto Parts Grinder did make it to victory lane with a win in the wheelie contest.
Jon Zimmer and Shock Therapy received their Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals presented by NGK Spark Plugs qualifying flag on Friday in Providence. An extremely excited Zimmer then came out and showed the fans why he is going to the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals with killer sky wheelies and a FANtastic freestyle run. He had a mechanical problem that kept him from making rounds in racing, but the team fixed the issue so the truck could return.
Joey Parnell, driving El Toro Loco, had a good night as did Kevin Kosala in Excaliber. Joe Sylvester, driving a coil over suspension truck, Bad Habit, drove the truck as hard as he could, and as he said “the harder I drive it, the better it works” and that was evident in his freestyle run. Pat Summa and Thrasher came out strong in the wheelie contest and kept the momentum going in freestyle. Lee O’Donnell and Iron Man were close in all of the competitions, usually 1 point away from a win in wheelies and freestyle and going to the semi final in racing.

Saturday 2pmKevin Kasala and Excaliber went to victory lane in the wheelie contest, after 2 tremendous hits on the crush cars, dragging the tailgate on both hits. Kasala and Excaliber really showed the fans what perfection in the wheelie contest looks like. Not only did Kevin and Excaliber win, they kept Randy Brown and Grave Digger from winning everything. Brown and Grave Digger won racing and freestyle, for the second time this weekend, doubling down twice already on a 4 show weekend.
Joey Parnell and El Toro Loco had a mechanical issue with the rear steering and were out of action after racing. Joe Sylvester and Bad Habit had a good Saturday in providence. Joe drives the truck extremely hard to get the suspension and chassis to work the way he wants them too. Pat Summa and Thrasher performed admirably in all of the competitions and being only 3 hours from home Pat had lots of friends, family and fans in the stands rooting him on.
Lee O’Donnell in Iron Man went to the racing main event after winning a photo finish vs. Shock Therapy and then had a photo finish vs. Grave Digger. Jon Zimmer and Shock Therapy would have room to contest the call of the finish between Iron Man and Shock Therapy, as the replay could have been worn out trying to see exactly who came out on top, the officials made the best call they could. Frank Krmel and Advance Auto Parts Grinder had a mechanical issue that cost him in racing but came back out in freestyle and gave the fans a great run.
Randy Brown and Grave Digger won racing and freestyle, doubling down for the second time and going for more later tonight. Randy runs the truck as all Grave Digger drivers are expected to, hard and with reckless abandon!

Saturday NightThree different competitions and three different winners in Providence on Saturday night.
Jon Zimmer in Shock Therapy won the wheelie contest, Frank Krmel in Advance Auto Parts Grinder won racing and Randy Brown in Grave Digger came out on top in freestyle. It was a hard fought battle all night long in all of the competitions for all of the competitors. The wow moments of the night were the reverse jumps by Joe Sylvester in Bad Habit and riding on two wheels in REVERSE also pulled off by Joe Sylvester. Joe was on a roll, but kept the truck from doing just that.
Zimmer and the Amsoil Shock Therapy had a killer showing in the wheelie contest, Jon has said in the past it is very hard to put the truck into a good wheelie, but this year with the high output Scorpion Engine on board has made a world of difference, making it possible to romp the throttle and get the response Jon is looking for. It was very evident in the wheelie contest as Shock Therapy was like a rocket ship!!
Frank Krmel finally got his groove back after a 3 week, 8 main event win streak he had going, was broken by Grave Digger and Randy Brown on Friday night. Frank got back to his winning ways, giving Grave Digger a little pay back with a semi final win over friend and competitor Randy Brown.

Sunday 2pmDouble Down. Randy Brown. Grave Digger. Those three things were synonymous in New England this weekend. Providence, RI Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam fans were treated to Grave Digger winning freestyle and racing 3 of the 4 times over the course of the weekend, only being beaten once in racing by Frank Krmel and Advance Auto Parts Grinder. Making it 7 of 12 for Grave Digger and Randy Brown in the competitions this weekend. Not a bad stat.
Jon Zimmer and Shock Therapy raced their way to the UTI Championship round of Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam racing, trying to turn the Scorpion Engine horsepower into a main event win, but came up short as Randy Brown was in a point and shoot truck that was determined to win.
Kevin Kasalas and Excaliber made it to victory lane again this weekend, winning the wheelie contest for the 2nd time. Joe Sylvester and the Ready Lift Bad Habit ran the wheels off of the truck all weekend long, and especially on Sunday. After being the first and one of the only drivers to hit the freestyle motocross landing ramp on Saturday night, he came right out on Sunday and attacked the massive hill. His initial hit was the freestyle mountain and then went on to blast around the track hitting all of the obstacles at a high rate of speed. One thing about Joe, he is not going to waste any of his play time. Whenever he's on the track, from wheelies to racing and freestyle, this guy is hard on the throttle. Pat Summa and Thrasher had a good weekend in Providence. Only 3 hours from home, this is like a hometown show for the New Englander and he put on a great show for all of the fans. Lee O’Donnell and Iron Man had a consistent weekend, always in the hunt but never quite making it to victory lane. JP 45, aka Joey Parnell had a stellar day in El Toro Loco. Some of the most amazing moments of the day were laid down by Joey. He had the bull going straight up and down in the wheelie contest and made it to the semi final in racing, then made the fans happy with a great freestyle.
