The 2010 Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam powered into this beautiful Canadian province for a three-show weekend beginning on Saturday morning with the Pit Party.  After having more than one hour to meet their favorite Monster Jam stars, Eastern Canadian fans returned to their seats in anticipation of yet another great Monster Jam event.

With four elements of Monster Jam competition, the drivers knew they had their work cut out for them.  The first element was the Wheelie Competition, which was won by Mike Vaters in Black Stallion at 23 points.  Grave Digger was second with 22, while Dominator checked in at 16 points.  Instigator tallied 15 points, while Iron Warrior earned 14.

Monster Jam Racing Round One saw Grave Digger get the Bye Run.  Instigator defeated Iron Warrior, while Black Stallion missed a set of crush cars, handing the win to Dominator.  However, Dominator suffered mechanical difficulties in the Semi Final, bringing back Black Stallion to face Instigator.  In a very close race, it would be Black Stallion taking the win.  The other Semi Final race saw Grave Digger storm past Fast Loser Iron Warrior.

The Monster Jam Racing Final pitted Grave Digger against Black Stallion.  As a seven-time Thunder Nationals Champion, Mike Vaters is no stranger to the winner’s circle.  He is smooth, fast, and experienced and would prove to be a very good match for Grave Digger driver Randy Brown.  When the lights went green, both trucks got a great start.  But at the finish line, it would be Hagerstown, Maryland’s Mike Vaters taking the big win.

The Donut Competition brought Randy Brown a score of 28 points and the overall win.  Instigator was second with 24 points, while teammates Iron Warrior and Black Stallion deadlocked at 16 each.  Dominator rounded out the event with a score of 14 points.

Advance Auto Parts Freestyle Competition was a wild affair with all drivers putting on a great show for the fans.  Sitting at 23 points, it appeared the Black Stallion driver Mike Vaters would take the win after a solid run.  However, Randy Brown in Grave Digger would have other ideas as he sailed his black and green wrecking machine through the warm Canadian air.  Brown was simply awesome as he took the win, boasting a score of 26 points.  The drivers earned the following final scores:

DOMINATOR: 14
INSTIGATOR: 15
IRON WARRIOR: 13
BLACK STALLION: 23
DIGGER: 26

With a great first show now in the books here in Halifax, Monster Jam crews are busily preparing for the Saturday night show.  In just a few short hours, we will be back to business and ready to rock Eastern Canada.

Saturday 7PM:

All five trucks returned for competition at Scotia Speedworld on Saturday night.  With Black Stallion and Grave Digger exchanging wins on Saturday afternoon, everyone knew that tonight’s event would see some of the fiercest competition yet.

Randy Brown in Grave Digger did not start off the night the way he would have wanted to.  The Wheelie Competition saw the Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina native launch awkwardly off the crush cars due to a broken axle.  Due to the extensive damage, Brown would not make a return to competition until Freestyle at the end of the show.  However, Brown’s misfortune did not change the fact that the Wheelie Competition was an entertaining one.  The winner was Black Stallion with 21 points, while Grave Digger took second with 17.  Instigator scored 16, and Dominator 15 points.  Rounding out scoring was Iron Warrior with 13.

Monster Jam Racing saw Black Stallion repeat as winner.  Vaters drove a flawless race against Lionel Easler in Instigator to take the victory.
The Monster Jam Donut Competition was won by Instigator at 25 points.  Driver Lionel Easler put on a very impressive smoke show on route to his first win of the weekend.  Dominator scored 21 points, while Black Stallion and Iron Warrior knotted up at 17 points.

Halifax fans were relieved when Randy Brown in Grave Digger made a return to Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Freestyle.  Brown would not disappoint, as he did a great job of piloting his ten thousand pound truck.  He ran the truck so hard, in fact, that he was left with a broken front brake caliper.  However, his run was good enough for the win and a score of 24 points.  Black Stallion and Instigator both scored 20, while Dominator had 16.  The competition rounded out with a 15 point effort for Iron Warrior driver Trey Meyers.

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam returns to Scotia Speedworld for the third and final show of the weekend.  Be sure to get your tickets fast to avoid disappointment!

Sunday 1PM

The third and final performance of Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam heated up tremendously here today at Scotia Speedworld.  An epic battled ensued between Mike Vaters in Black Stallion who went head-to head with Randy Brown in Grave Digger all day long.

Vaters started it off right with a win in the Wheelie Competition.  He pointed the nose of Black Stallion to the sky and took home the win and a score of 22 points.  Grave Digger finished second with 20, while Dominator and Instigator tied at 19 points each.  Trey Meyers in Iron Warrior rounded out the scoring with a 16 point effort.

Monster Jam Racing Round One saw Grave Digger get the bye run.  In head-to-head action, Black Stallion defeated Dominator while Instigator disposed of Iron Warrior.  Dominator would return as Fast Loser in the Semi Final, but Grave Digger quickly ended driver Kyle Chandler’s hopes of advancing to the final.  The other Semi saw Black Stallion blow by Instigator.

The Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Racing Final is where things started to get wild.  Working on an all-new Ford engine package with A & C Racing Engines, Black Stallion driver Mike Vaters was confident he would have the horsepower advantage when the lights turned green.  Randy Brown in Grave Digger, however, was not about to hand anything over easily.  In what was certainly the best race of the weekend, Vaters powered down the final straightaway and nipped Grave Digger in an awesome photo finish.

In the Donut Contest, Grave Digger stormed back looking for a win, and was more than successful in his quest.  Three intense donuts earned him a winning score of 26 points.  Instigator was second with 22 points, while Black Stallion earned 17.  Dominator and Iron Warrior tied at 16 to round out scoring.

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Freestyle Competition saw one of the most memorable performances ever by Grave Digger driver Randy Brown.  Brown pulled off some huge Long Jumps and absolutely lit the tires up with some Donuts.  And although it meant no extra points, Brown extended his run well past the sixty second allotted time, almost burning every ounce of fuel out Grave Digger.  Second place went to Black Stallion with 22 points, while third was captured by Instigator at 18.  Iron Warrior and Dominator rounded out scoring with 15 points each.

We would like to thank the scores of wonderful Eastern Canadian fans who took in yet another great Advance Auto Parts north of the 49th parallel.  It is always more fun when you can travel to a scenic area where the people are as warm and friendly as any place on earth.

See you down the road!
