Saturday

It’s has been one great first night of competition here in Panama. The Rod Carew Stadium once again has been filled with the Panaminian fans, all of them in support of their favorite monster trucks.

The track, in perfect condition, on a beautiful day, has allowed all of the Monster Jam drivers to really show off all of their driving skills during all the competitions. In Monster Jam Wheelies all of the trucks did great wheelies, but one thing that caught the eye of the judges was the great wheelie and the landing on the back wheels for a back wheelie. The fans reacted to it and the result was the highest score for Grave Digger with 26 points. Only coming closer to the winner was Backwards Bob with 23 points and Donkey Kong at 23 points.

Monster Jam racing was also great and filled with challenging situations for the drivers. In round one of racing, Monster Mutt had to do a bye run due to Max D not being able to compete because of mechanical problems with the truck. Monster Mutt went in to the semi final round of racing.  El Toro Loco wins overs Backwards Bob driven by Bari Musawwir making his debut as a Monster Jam driver in Panama. Backawards Bob crashed against the crushed cars at the first curve of the track. Spider-Man won over Madusa in a very close race. Grave Digger wins over Donkey Kong  who also had problems at the curve where he got trapped at the crushed cars, and yet was able to come close at the finished line.

Semi-Finals

Monster Mutt wins over Spiderman, who lost control at the curve and ended up agains the crushed cars. El Toro Loco lost against Grave Digger in a close race.

Final

Monster Mutt runs agains Grave Digger, who takes advantage after a strong take off, and Mutt lost its momentum after losing control at the first curve of the track. Grave Digger wins the Monster Jam Racing.

Monster Jam Freestyle:

The first night of Freestyle in Panama was great. The excitement of the fans was manifested loudly and the drivers were highly motivated. The freestyle had a couple of flips and a broken axle. Madusa after a great take off and a rough landing was in competition for less than 10 seconds. According to Madusa the jump was easy, but the landing was too rough, and the truck just did not take it.  Grave Diggers also flipped to the side just barely after starting his 90 seconds of freestyle, and the same thing happened to Donkey Kong who came 9 seconds short of finishing his  time.. Donkey Kong came to a tie against Spider-Man, who had a tremendous performance. The Judges had to break the tie and gave the victory to Spider-Man, due to the fact that he finished all the of his freestyle  time. Dana Creech was excited to have won his first competition of the weekend in Panama.

We still have one more day of competition. We’ll keep you up to date!
