Once again the ringing in of a New Year means that fans are ready for the thrills of Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® live at great venues all over the continent and for 2013 the sport comes roaring out of the gate with incredible action set in cities from coast to coast. Even with the rescheduling of the this year’s first Reliant Stadium Monster Jam in Houston from January 5th to January 12th eleven cities are still ready to go with the superstars of Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam headed their way the first weekend of 2013.
Looking ahead to the opening weekend of 2013 great line-ups are headed to all of the locales on the schedule. Tom Meents opens the Max-DSM 10th Anniversary season as well as the pursuit of a third straight World Racing Championship at the Tacoma Dome in Washington. Max-D headlines a stellar roster set to Rock the Dome in four separate events over the first weekend of the New Year and Meents figures to get stiff challenges from the all-star array of talent ready to battle against the only 10-time World Champion, including Grave Digger® and Grave Digger the Legend® along with several other popular machines like Team Hot Wheels Firestorm, Monster Mutt® Dalmatian, Mohawk Warrior®, and several more scheduled to open 2013 in Tacoma for four events that all promise to be epic.
Then look way back across the country to Birmingham, Alabama, a tradition rich Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam city ready for three events to rock the BJCC Arena on Friday and Saturday. Team Grave Digger and Metal Mulisha lead the charge into Deep South and the Birmingham event also is set to unveil the highly anticipated new Scooby-DooTM Monster Jam Truck with Young Gun Nicole Johnson behind the wheel. Also in the southern part of the United States sensational action is set to thrill fans in Nashville, Tennessee at the Bridgestone Arena and in Lexington, Kentucky, at Rupp Arena, the spacious home of the reigning NCAA men’s basketball champion Kentucky Wildcats.
Fans in the northeast are in the mix as well with sensational events headed to Trenton, New Jersey, Manchester, New Hampshire, and Rochester, New York. In Rochester at the Blue Cross Arena the fans are especially amped up for what promises to be an off the charts freestyle competition, considering that reigning World Freestyle champion Cam McQueen is scheduled to bring his Northern NightmareSM to battle the likes of Grave Digger and Advance Auto Parts Grinder® and the fans in Rochester will also get the first look at the new yellow El Toro Loco® in action as Becky McDonough opens this new chapter of the El Toro Loco Monster Jam story.
Some great events are heading to the cities listed above for sure, but there’s so much more on the week one calendar with lots of incredible action coming all across America’s heartland. That includes awesome action headed to Columbus, Ohio; Des Moines, Iowa; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Fans will be in for a treat at each and every one of these annual stops on the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam circuit with great line-ups and not only are the fans excited to see their heroes coming to their hometowns but believe me each and every Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam driver is thrilled to be opening up another year doing what they love to do most, thrilling the fans and looking to earn crucial victories that they hope will be earning them an invitation to the largest ever Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals.
As was announced during the CBS Sports Spectacular Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam 2013 Preview Show this year the field competing for the two World Championships in Las Vegas will be the largest ever. With 28 trucks in the competitions at Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World FinalsSM XIV presented by NGK Spark Plugs March 22nd and 23rd at Sam Boyd Stadium in Vegas, four more than ever before, you can expect the racing and freestyle to be even more intense all year (if that’s possible) with every competitor in Monster Jam trying to secure a spot in what will no doubt be the greatest edition ever of the sport’s premier event.
So here we go! The start to another incredible year of the thrills and excitement that only Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam fans enjoy gets underway with the huge schedule for week one, and there’s no let up after the opening weekend as the following weeks are jam packed with can’t miss events in cities all over North America.
