TRUCK HISTORY
|
| Hot
Tamale campaigns as a teammate truck to Equalizer in Advance Auto Parts Monster
Jam® competition. Equalizer is one of the most familiar truck names
on the circuit, the original Equalizer dating back to the earliest years in the
sport’s history when it quickly became one of the most successful and popular
machines in competition. All the way back to the 1980s is when Equalizer’s
reputation was built as one of the fastest trucks on the race track. Eventually
driver/owner Mike Hawkins purchased Equalizer and began to campaign the truck
in Monster Jam. When Hawkins acquired a brand-new Equalizer in 2006, the former
Equalizer truck became Hot Tamale, a name inspired by Isaias Morales. Morales,
a native of Monterrey, Mexico, was one of Hawkins’ Equalizer team crew members
and then became the driver who first got the opportunity to drive Hot Tamale in
Monster Jam competitions. |
