Driver Tim Mente has
extensive motorsports experience that makes him a true competitor for Advance
Auto Parts Monster Jam. As a teenager Mente started as a drag racer and then
moved to competing in demolition derbies and in mud racing. Mente entered the
world of monster trucks when he began working on the pit crew for multi-time
Thunder Nationals champion Michael Vaters and the Black Stallion monster truck.
In addition to competing in Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam competitions, Mente
owns a tree service company.

How did you get started competing on
the Monster Jam circuit?
Tim Mente:
My first job in Monster Jam was working on the pit crew for the Black
Stallion and Iron Warrior monster trucks.
MonsterJam.com:
What do you enjoy doing while on the
road with Monster Jam?
Tim Mente:
At the shows, I enjoy meeting my fans. In
between shows – seeing the country and tasting local food specialties.
MonsterJam.com:
What do you do with your free time?
Tim Mente:
Free time? – You’re funny... All joking aside,
I stay focused on my other business and spend time with family.
MonsterJam.com:
What is your greatest memory as a monster
truck driver?
Tim Mente:
That’s hard to say…it’s hard to pick exactly
one memory. First I’d say it was my very first show and making it to the
semi-finals in racing. Also my first cyclone and maybe the first time I beat
the guy I used to crew for! There are so many more memories but those are the first
ones that pop into my head.
MonsterJam.com:
Do you have any pre-show rituals that
you run though?
Tim Mente:
I just make sure that the equipment is 100% and I also make sure that I study
the track to develop a game plan.
MonsterJam.com:
If you were not competing on the
Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?
Tim Mente:
Run for President of the United States… (haha)
MonsterJam.com:
What’s your favorite food?
Tim Mente:
Steak.
MonsterJam.com:
What’s your favorite movie?
Tim Mente:
The Blue Brothers.
MonsterJam.com:
What’s your favorite television show?
Tim Mente:
Two and a Half Men.
MonsterJam.com:
What’s your favorite color?
