Sean Duhon became a
Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, policeman right out of high school.
Even so, he always had a love for motorsports and he competed in everything
from motocross to drag racing to dirt track racing. Then Duhon was given the
opportunity to race a few different monster trucks like T-Maxx, Sudden Impact
and Cult Energy. Duhon realized that he had found his true passion as a monster
truck driver so he left his job in the Sheriff’s office to race monster trucks
on a full time basis. Duhon says that when he got the chance to pilot the Superman
truck in Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam that it was truly a dream
come true.
For the 2013 Monster Jam season, Duhon will be driving the “Fan’s Choice” Monster Jam truck, Zombie. Zombie along with Duhon will wake from the dead every weekend to reek havoc on any other Monster Jam truck that may cross their paths.
Q&A with Sean Duhon

:
How did you get started competing on the Monster Jam circuit?
Sean Duhon:
Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam came to the Superdome in New
Orleans and I met John Seasock at a local display that he had. I saw that he
was by himself so I asked him if he needed any help at the show, and he
was more than happy to let me help. I went to a few more shows within driving
distance to my house to help him and it was up hill from there.

:
What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver?
Sean Duhon:
The greatest memory that I have is when I was invited to do an
encore at the World Finals in Vegas. That was a great feeling and I had so much
fun.

Do you have
any pre-show rituals that you run though?
Sean Duhon:
Wow, do I ever. I'm so superstitious about things. Some
of the biggest things I do: since I’m left handed I do everything left first - pants
legs, shoes, jacket sleeves, and gloves. I know it’s crazy but it’s worked
for me so far. Then right before the show starts I wish that everybody stays
safe and has a fun time from the competitors to the fans.

:
If you were not
competing on the Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?
Sean Duhon:
When I’m not traveling with Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam I work
for BLD Services in New Orleans so I would probably be there more often. Or
maybe I would be back at the Sheriff’s office.
