Duhon became a Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, policeman right out
of high school. Even so, he always had a love for motorsports and he
competed in everything from motocross to drag racing to dirt track racing. Then
Duhon was given the opportunity to compete in Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam®
in a few different Monster Jam trucks like T-Maxx, Sudden Impact and Cult
Energy. Duhon realized that he had found his true passion as a Monster Jam
truck driver so he left his job in the Sheriff’s office to race Monster Jam
trucks on a full time basis. Duhon says that when he got the chance to pilot
the SupermanTM Monster Jam truck that it was truly a dream come

Q&A with Sean Duhon
How did you
get started competing on the Monster Jam circuit?
Monster Jam came to the Superdome in New Orleans and I met John Seasock at a
local display that he had. I saw that he was by himself so I
asked him if he needed any help at the show, and he was more than happy to let
me help. I went to a few more shows within driving distance to my house to help
him and it was up hill from there.
What do you enjoy doing while on the
road with Monster Jam?
meeting all the fans at the shows. It’s awesome to watch their faces and to see
how much fun they have in the stands.
What do you
do with your free time?
have a 9 second 1973 Camaro that I race at the local drag strips. I love racing
and anything outdoors.
What is your
greatest memory as a Monster Jam truck driver?
greatest memory that I have is when I was invited to do an encore at the Monster
Jam World Finals in Vegas. That was a great feeling and I had so much fun.
Do you have
any pre-show rituals that you run though?
do I ever. I'm so superstitious about things. Some of the biggest things I
do: since I’m left handed I do everything left first - pants legs, shoes,
jacket sleeves, and gloves. I know it’s crazy but it’s worked for me so
far. Then right before the show starts I wish that everybody stays safe and has
a fun time from the competitors to the fans.
were not competing on the Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?
I’m not traveling with Monster Jam I work for BLD Services in New
Orleans so I would probably be there more often. Or maybe I would be back
at the Sheriff’s office.
