DRIVER HISTORY

Sean Duhon became a Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, policeman right out of high school. Even so, he always had a love for motorsports and he competed in everything from motocross to drag racing to dirt track racing. Then Duhon was given the opportunity to race a few different monster trucks like T-Maxx, Sudden Impact and Cult Energy. Duhon realized that he had found his true passion as a monster truck driver so he left his job in the Sheriff’s office to race monster trucks on a full time basis. Duhon says that when he got the chance to pilot the Superman truck in Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam that it was truly a dream come true.

For the 2013 Monster Jam season, Duhon will be driving the “Fan’s Choice” Monster Jam truck, Zombie. Zombie along with Duhon will wake from the dead every weekend to reek havoc on any other Monster Jam truck that may cross their paths.

Q&A with Sean Duhon

MonsterJam.com : How did you get started competing on the Monster Jam circuit?

Sean Duhon:  Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam came to the Superdome in New Orleans and I met John Seasock at a local display that he had. I saw that he was by himself so I asked him if he needed any help at the show, and he was more than happy to let me help. I went to a few more shows within driving distance to my house to help him and it was up hill from there.

MonsterJam.com : What do you enjoy doing while on the road with Monster Jam?

Sean Duhon: I’m still new to the Monster Jam family but I enjoy meeting all the fans at the shows. It’s awesome to watch their faces and to see how much fun they have in the stands.

MonsterJam.com : What do you do with your free time?

Sean Duhon:  I have a 9 second 1973 Camaro that I race at the local drag strips. I love racing and anything outdoors.

MonsterJam.com : What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver?

Sean Duhon: The greatest memory that I have is when I was invited to do an encore at the World Finals in Vegas. That was a great feeling and I had so much fun.

MonsterJam.com :   Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run though?

Sean Duhon:  Wow, do I ever. I'm so superstitious about things. Some of the biggest things I do: since I’m left handed I do everything left first - pants legs, shoes, jacket sleeves, and gloves. I know it’s crazy but it’s worked for me so far. Then right before the show starts I wish that everybody stays safe and has a fun time from the competitors to the fans.

MonsterJam.com :  If you were not competing on the Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?

Sean Duhon: When I’m not traveling with Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam I work for BLD Services in New Orleans so I would probably be there more often. Or maybe I would be back at the Sheriff’s office.

MonsterJam.com :  What’s your favorite food?

Sean Duhon: That’s a toss-up between steak and Chinese.

MonsterJam.com :  What’s your favorite movie?

Sean Duhon:  Willy Wonka and Days of Thunder.

MonsterJam.com :   What’s your favorite television show?

Sean Duhon: Family Guy and Monster Jam…you have to love the marathons.

MonsterJam.com :   What’s your favorite color?

Sean Duhon: Red.
