DRIVER HISTORY
|
Considered by most who follow the sport as one of the most exciting and talented drivers in the game, Neil Elliott is the perfect fit to drive the Maximum Destruction® truck for Tom Meents' team. Elliot relocated from his Paxton, Illinois, hometown to Naples, Florida, with his fiancée, Candice Jolly, who drives Monster Mutt Dalmatian®. Elliott always seems to be behind the wheel of something competitive. When not thrilling the Maximum Destruction fans with his amazing performances in Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® competitions, Elliot, in addition to Jolly, has been racing go-karts and competing in demolition derby events, several of which they've won.
Elliott's start in Monster Jam came by helping in the shop of his friend Meents. Later, Meents offered Elliott the chance to drive for his vaunted team. An instant sensation, Elliott began his driving career behind the wheel of Bulldozer, the second team truck for Meents. When Meents, a multi-time World Champion driver, decided it was time to build a second Maximum Destruction truck, he made the obvious choice of having Elliott take over driving the machine. Elliott is well-known and widely respected for his driving talents. His outstanding performances earned him an invitation to compete at the sport's biggest event, the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals, presented by NGK Spark Plugs. While there, he achieved continued great success by finishing among the final four in racing in 2006 and for registering memorable freestyle performances in Las Vegas.
Elliott along with Meents are excited to get the 2013 Monster Jam season underway and celebrate the decade of destruction with fans all around the world. Elliott will take the driver's seat in an all new Max-DSM truck for 2013.
Q&A with Neil Elliott MonsterJam.com: How did you get started competing on the Monster Jam circuit? Neil Elliott: I've worked in an automotive shop since I was 12 years old. There is nothing that I can't fix. I started going over to the Meents shop after work and helping them. Then, Tom offered me a job driving. I started in Bulldozer, and then drove High Roller, followed by Hot Wheels, and now I'm driving Maximum Destruction.
