For Mat Dishman, having a mechanical background led to an opportunity to be a part of the acclaimed Hall Brothers Racing, Inc. team. Then in 2009, Mat was selected to be a driver of the Rammunition monster truck, following in the footsteps of his brother Geremie Dishman Mat’s ability with a wrench had made him a valuable part of the Hall Brothers Racing operation. So when the need for a driver opened up, it was a natural decision for the team to ask him to drive. Mat says he started working jobs at the bottom of the famous monster truck team and worked his way up. Ultimately, he became the team’s choice for the newest driver of Rammunition.

Q&A with Mat Dishman

MonsterJam.com: How did you get started competing on the Monster Jam circuit?
Mat Dishman: Originally, I was a mechanic for my brother, Geremie Dishman, in Quad Racing. I have always been turning wrenches with my dad in the garage. I started at the bottom of Hall Brothers Racing and worked my way up the ladder to being a driver.

MonsterJam.com: What do you enjoy doing while on the road with Monster Jam
Mat Dishman: Competing and spending time with all the fans.

MonsterJam.com: What do you do with your free time?
Mat Dishman: I spend time with my family and friends.

MonsterJam.com: What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver?
Mat Dishman: So far, it would be meeting up with my friends and the time spent with them at Monster Jam.

MonsterJam.com: Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run through?
Mat Dishman: A prayer for my safety, and I always do a safety-gear check of my equipment. 

MonsterJam.com: If you were not competing on the Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?
Mat Dishman: Mechanical engineering or teaching.

Mat Dishman: Almost anything with honey mustard.
