Q & A with Mark Hall
MonsterJam.com: How did you get started competing on the Monster Jam circuit?
Mark Hall: We got started in Monster Jam before there even was a Monster Jam! We have been very fortunate to have been around a long time. We started back in the old Camel Mud and Monster Series. My background has pretty much always been in racing. My dad was a motorcycle announcer; so we kind of grew up at the racetrack. As I got older, I followed what my big brothers did and they were into four-wheel drive trucks. My first vehicle was a Jeep. I guess when you put all of that together, the racing and big four-wheel-drive trucks, that’s where the monster trucks came from.

MonsterJam.com: What do you enjoy doing while on the road with Monster Jam?
Mark Hall: I enjoy the traveling and going to different places, meeting people and seeing the different stadiums and arenas.

MonsterJam.com: What do you do with your free time?
Mark Hall: I’m a big sports fan, so I enjoy watching other sporting events. I’m a huge drag racing fan; so if I can catch a drag race — that is always cool. Most of all, off the track, I like spending time with family and friends.

MonsterJam.com: What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver?
Mark Hall: I have been very fortunate to have raced in a lot of really cool places and at some really neat races. My greatest memory would probably be a race that we did close to home. We were able to win that night and that was the last race my dad got to see. I remember that night like it was yesterday.

MonsterJam.com: Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run through?
Mark Hall: I don’t know that I have any pre-show rituals other than I try to do everything exactly the same as far as getting ready.

MonsterJam.com: If you were not competing on the Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?
Mark Hall: If I weren’t competing on the Monster Jam tour, I don’t know that I would do anything differently. I enjoy welding and building things. Maybe it would just be on some other kind of race vehicle.

MonsterJam.com: What’s your favorite food?
Mark Hall: Favorite food — that would be a toss up between Monical’s Pizza (a local pizza place that I eat lunch at almost every day) or a chili cheese dog.

MonsterJam.com: What’s your favorite movie?
Mark Hall: I’m a big time movie fan; so I don’t know that I’d have just one favorite. I like a bunch of them.

MonsterJam.com: What’s your favorite television show?
Mark Hall: I don’t watch much TV. I think I’ll try to score some extra points here and say when I do watch, it’s Monster Jam on SPEED, a cable and satellite television network.

MonsterJam.com: What’s your favorite color?
Mark Hall: Favorite color, that’s easy — RAMINATOR RED!
