History making Madusa also known as the Queen of Carnage has never been afraid to challenge the norms and breakthrough into what had been mostly a man’s world, becoming the first female ever to win an Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Championship in 2004 for her freestyle. And then just for good measure, the First Lady of Monster Jam won the racing championship a year later, defeating no less than Dennis Anderson and Grave Digger in the 2005 Championship race in Las Vegas to take that title. Her success in the sport is natural; she has been a gear head her whole life. After starting out on dirt bikes and four wheelers she says that she matured on her ‘92 soft tail Harley, and of course the color is pink. Madusa clearly has a zest for life and is a little fearless however she strives to always be on her game. She has been in the entertainment business for most of her life. She starting as a young model then went on to pro wrestling for 18 years and eventually becoming a superstar in Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam.

Q&A with Madusa

MonsterJam.com:  How did you get started competing on the Monster Jam circuit?

Madusa:  I received a phone call from Monster Jam and was asked if I was interested in driving because Monster Jam needed a push in the women’s division since they did not have one. The cross promotion from pro wrestling to monster trucks worked. We all have had a wonderful relationship and I have won two world finals.

MonsterJam.com:  What do you enjoy doing while on the road with Monster Jam?      

Madusa:  If I can get my hands dirty by helping the mechanics I do. Every little bit of knowledge is a plus. If I am not doing personal appearances or signing autographs or meeting with sponsors, I will find a gym, eat a great meal and if I really have time, I love a good movie.

MonsterJam.com: What do you do with your free time?

Madusa:  I own a business KOOLKATS and HOTDOGS. It’s a doggie day spa, grooming, doggie day care and our own doggie bakery! All of our products are natural and organic… go green! I have a sanctuary for rescued wolves. People that thought they could have them as pets and now want to give them back. It’s very sad, however now they have a good home. I kayak and love to scuba dive. I love to ride my Harley and mountain bike in the mountains. I have tried fly fishing and absolutely love it. I love killer rollercoasters and have started snowboarding. Wakeboarding, jet skiing and snowmobiling are also on the top of my list. Nothing beats a great book before bed!  I recently just became a certified FIT - Life Coach (Feminine, Intelligent & Tough) which is so exciting.

MonsterJam.com: What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver?

Madusa:  Well the answer would be every time I can whoop a man! Being able to get out of the truck every time I may crash, and of course winning my two world championships! The best is racing. They can never take it away. The story is memorable, I truly believe mine is the best to date just because of the history and story itself.

MonsterJam.com: Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run though?

Madusa:  I am the nerd of pre-show rituals. I have to use the restroom, stretch, make sure my helmet, gloves and Hans device are in their perfect place. Even placing my belts in the right position will help me focus! Oh and no dinner before racing. God forbid if something was to happen and I needed surgery they could perform it without any complications. And absolutely no aspirin it thins out your blood.

MonsterJam.com: If you were not competing on the Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?

Madusa:  I would like to continue my education as well as maintain growing my business and taking on new roles all of the time.  I love pushing myself to the fullest potential and challenging myself to great levels.

MonsterJam.com: What’s your favorite food?

Madusa:  I am pretty worldly and love all foods however I do not eat red meat or pork. But I love a great dark chocolate with an awesome glass of cab.

MonsterJam.com: What’s your favorite movie?

Madusa:  All about Eve…. Notebook…. And now waiting anxiously for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, I read the trilogy and I highly recommend them all, what a fabulous writer.   I also like Horror Flicks
