DRIVER HISTORY
"Ranger Joe" Cypher, President/founder of Ranger Marketing Airborne Ranger Motorsports Team, is the world's first disabled monster truck driver, and darn proud of it. AIRBORNE RANGER is named for the famous division of the U.S. Army Airborne Rangers. The truck, and the racing team is dedicated to all U.S. Army Airborne Rangers, "past, present, and future. Rangers lead the way!" Ranger Joe and AIRBORNE RANGER, now in their eigth year of racing have competed against and defeated top monster trucks across the nation racing in U.S. Hot Rod Association Monster Jam ® events. Joe remembers going against GRAVE DIGGER in the final round of a USHRA ® event, " I didn't beat him, but just going into the final round with him is BIG TIME!" AIRBORNE RANGER is the first hand controlled monster truck, allowing "Ranger Joe" to drive the truck with only his hands. (Joe is a L-1, L-2 paraplegic). Joe became paralyzed twelve (12) years ago after he was in a terrible car accident. Joe is now able to walk with the help of braces, despite all the doctors telling him he would never walk again. "Ranger Joe" has never given up easily. To name just a few of Ranger Joe's accomplishments -- he was a member of the USA/ASD Gold Cup Wheelchair Basketball Team, a participant in the 1990-1992 National Veterans Wheelchair Games, Northwest Wheelchair Arm Wrestling Champion 1992, a member of the Monster Truck Racing Association (MTRA), and the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). Ranger Joe plans to build another monster truck equipped with a wheelchair lift to give disabled individuals (children) a chance to ride in a monster truck. Look for "Ranger Joe" and AIRBORNE RANGER at the U.S. Hot Rod Monster Jam® nearest you this winter.
