Bringing an
extensive racing background with him to the world of Advance Auto Parts Monster
Jam, it is clear that Louisville’s Derick Anson loves motorsports providing the
ultimate thrills for the fans. Anson’s background started in motocross, as well
as in drag racing. Anson also participated in one of the most exciting and
daring forms of racing, roaring through the intersection in Outlaw Figure 8
races. Anson found a lot of success “cutting the X” and won the Rookie of the
Year with his Outlaw Figure 8 car in 2011 at the famous Speedrome in
Indianapolis and won the Rookie of the Race award at the one of Figure-8’s most
popular races, the World 3-Hour Enduro. Always looking for more exciting rides
and more fans to thrill, Anson decided to build his own monster truck. He found
immediate success in his new truck and was invited to compete in Advance Auto
Parts Monster Jam events. When he’s not in his monster truck Anson continues to
race his Outlaw Figure-8 car.
