Michigan Ice Monster driver Chris Lagana has spent
most of his life in the motorsports industry with more than 25 years of
experience in custom chassis fabrication including drag cars, circle track
cars, mega trucks and monster trucks. Along with staying busy as a
fabricator, Lagana has gained plenty of experience behind the wheel. For
several years, Lagana has raced a mid 7-second pro stock car that he built himself.
Some of Lagana’s other racing experiences include his time racing a sportsman
circle track car for four years. He has been featured on the first 8 “Trucks Gone
Wild” videos in 5 different mega trucks that he has built himself. Lagana moved
into monster trucks in 2008 after he built and drove the truck that was called
Razin Kane and is now called the Ice Cream Man. Now Lagana is excited about his
chance to compete in Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam and to excite the fans with
his performances in the Michigan Ice Monster.

How did you get started competing on
the Monster Jam circuit?
Chris Lagana:
After being involved with motorsports doing custom chassis fabrication I
went to work for Sudden Impact Racing.

What do you enjoy doing while on the
road with Monster Jam?
Chris Lagana:
I enjoy talking to all of the Monster Jam
drivers for knowledge, and I like visiting the best restaurants in all of the
cities that we travel to.

What do you do with your free time?
Chris Lagana:
When I’m not with my wife and daughter, I like to build custom truck
chassis’ and cars.

What is your greatest memory as a
monster truck driver?
Chris Lagana:
My greatest memory so far is beating Dan Runte
(Bigfoot) in freestyle.

Do you have any pre-show rituals that
you run though?
Chris Lagana:
Yes, checking every bolt on my truck. Making sure that I have my
mouthpiece, and then I’m ready.

If you were not competing on the
Monster Jam tour, what career path would you follow?
Chris Lagana:
Custom fabrication at my own shop that I have
in Florida.
