A perfect fit for Jim Koehler’s Team Scream, Chris Bergeron, easily recognized for his high energy and enthusiasm, now has more than a decade of top-level Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® experience under his belt as the driver of the popular Brutus monster truck. Bergeron’s friendship with Koehler goes back to the days before Avenger was created when they raced mud trucks together. After a few years of success with Avenger, the team built Brutus and signed on Bergeron as the driver. Bergeron quickly built a popular following among the fans thanks to his ragged-edge performances and his entertaining, over–the-top interviews. One of the sport’s fondest memories of the Brutus truck dates back to 2005 in New Orleans when Brutus collided with Gunslinger. This incident has become one of the most-viewed and most-remembered moments ever for both teams and for fans all around. Bergeron has joined the sport’s best monster truck drivers several times to compete at the World Finals, his first appearance occurring in 2005. Even in today’s world where filling the clock in freestyle has become a major priority to get big scores from the judges, Bergeron has never wavered from his take-no-prisoners style.
